Eurobank EFG Hires Six For Luxembourg Private Bank

Eurobank EFG Private Bank Luxembourg has appointed two senior executives from ABN AMRO while also recruiting four bankers from Citi Private Bank, according to media reports.

Robert Berbee and Michel Oosterhaven, both of whom worked for ABN AMRO in Luxembourg, have joined EFG Private Bank as head of international wealth management and head of advisory and dealing respectively.

Mr Berbee had initially joined ABN AMRO’s asset management arm, but was latterly head of the bank’s private banking unit in Luxembourg. Mr Ossterhaven had worked in ABN AMRO’s private banking and advisory services division and was most recently head of advisory and dealing.

In other hires, George Korliras, Manos Karathanasis, Costas Babalis and Costas Metaxas have joined from Citi Private Bank. The four appointees had each spent between three and 13 years at Citigroup’s private banking division.

Eurobank EFG, which is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, provides financial services in Greece and central and southeastern Europe. As part of the Geneva-headquartered EFG Group, Eurobank EFG is a sister company of EFG International, the Zurich-based private banking and asset management group.

The EFG Group has over SFr140 billion in assets under management and 20,000 employees in 34 countries.
